PRP therapy is a hair loss treatment that can help stimulate and sustain hair growth for patients struggling with thinning hair along the scalp line.
What is it?
If you’ve been losing your hair or you’re starting to notice that it’s thinning, you may be a good candidate for PRP injections for hair restoration. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) hair restoration is an innovative medical treatment that uses the power of your body’s very own platelets to encourage hair regrowth, leaving you with thicker, fuller, and healthier-looking locks. PRP Injections for hair restoration require no stitches, surgical incisions, or downtime – meaning you can get back to your life faster!f
You’re a good candidate for PRP injections for hair restoration if you have thinning hair along your scalp line. PRP Injections may not be a good solution if you have already experienced significant hair loss.
What to expect
The PRP treatment typically starts with drawing a small blood sample from the patient's arm. This sample is then processed in a centrifuge to isolate and cleanse the platelet-rich plasma from the other blood components. The PRP is collected and injected into your scalp in areas experiencing hair thinning or loss. This process usually involves multiple small injections and usually takes about 45-60 minutes.
Most patients experience little to no downtime and can resume normal activities immediately after the treatment. Certain precautions are recommended, such as avoiding strenuous activities, direct sunlight and certain hair products for a specified period. We also recommend that you avoid getting your hair wet for at least 24 hours after your PRP Injection session. You may notice that your treatment area feels a little tender and sore for a few days after treatment.
Results are typically gradual but include noticeable hair regrowth within eight to twelve weeks after your last PRP injection treatment. Full results can take 6-12 months to become fully noticeable and typically multiple treatment sessions are recommended for optimal results. The hair is completely natural and 100% yours – you can shower, swim, and even tug on it!
