What are PRP Injections for Facial Rejuvenation?

PRP injections represent an innovative solution for clients who want radiant and youthful skin. PRP – which stands for platelet-rich plasma – promotes accelerated healing in damaged dermal tissue, leading to stronger, firmer, and much younger-looking skin. With regular treatments, PRP injections for facial rejuvenation can lead to renewed cellular growth, which can help erase complexion issues like fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and more.

How Does It Work?

PRP injections are prepared from your own blood (don’t worry, only a few teaspoons are removed). The platelets are separated from the patient’s blood using a centrifuge; after separation, the platelets are added to a special growth-activating serum that essentially “unlocks” the power of the platelets.

The formula can be added to a microneedling device for facial rejuvenation, or to a special syringe for injections in key facial areas. One area that responds particularly well to injections is the undereye region. If you have dark circles and excess undereye bags, PRP injections may be a good choice for you.

Am I A Good Candidate?

You’re a good candidate for PRP injections if you have dull or uneven skin tone, acne scars, mild to moderate signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, and more. PRP injections can be used by patients over 18.

How Long Does Treatment Take?*

A PRP injection treatment can take about 45 minutes, which includes the time it takes to collect your blood, cleanse the platelets, and inject them back into key facial regions. If you’re nervous about feeling uncomfortable during the injection, we can use ice or a numbing cream to treat the area first.

What Results Will I See?*

Final results include brighter, smoother, and more radiant-looking skin. Most patients need about 2 to 5 PRP injection treatments to see ideal results.

Is There Any Down Time?

There’s no downtime associated with PRP injection treatments, but keep in mind that the first week or two after your PRP injection, your treatment site may be slightly red or tender to the touch. We recommend wearing sunscreen immediately after your treatment, as it will be sensitive to the sun’s harsh UV rays.
